Thanks for visiting my site. You’ll find my full bio here. You’ll discover my real name is Justin Brown and that my publishing career began in travel writing. My first three books in that genre were published by Random House and published in NZ, Australia and the UK. Next came Kiwi Speak, Rugby Speak and Cricket Speak, a colloquial and well-loved series which stayed in the bestseller lists for many months.
When my wife and I became parents, I switched to writing for children. Many of my books are available in libraries in Canada, the UK and Australia, in particular The Signature Series edited by the brilliant Joy Cowley.
I’ll never forget what it was like to hear my favourite author speak with our class. If you’re a teacher and you’d like me to do the same at your school please feel free to get in touch. This is a great chance for your students to learn about the writing and the publishing process from a professional. Although I am based in New Zealand this is entirely possible thanks to the wonders of Zoom or Skype. No doubt your kids will have lots of questions regarding Kiwis, the All Blacks, Lorde and why we pronounce things funny.
Parents and caregivers, feel free to sign up to my newsletter below and your young superstar reader will be kept up to date with my new books and bad jokes! And please let your children or students know they can read the first chapters of my latest books for 8–12 year olds by clicking on the links below.
